Meebo an in-browser instant messaging application that centralizes multiple instant messaging services like Yahoo!, Google Talk, Facebook, MSN, MySpace, AIM, ICQ etc. has now added email notification feature in its Windows desktop notifier.
In the preferences of Windows desktop notifier a new “Mail” tab can be found, which allows you to “Enable mail notifications for these accounts:” below it lists all the IM accounts that you have signed up for on Meebo.
So now when you receive a new email on Yahoo, Gmail etc, you will get pop up notifications at the bottom of your computer screen similar to the ones that you get for the new IMs. Clicking on the notification will take you to the email service you got an email on.
Using this feature enables you to conveniently check and keep tack of the emails that you receive on different email services as generally one uses the same username and password for the email and IM within services like Gmail/Gtalk or Yahoo.
